Claire and Geoff Wedding

Wigan!!! This was our destination last Friday for the exceptional wedding of Claire and Geoff, the furthest north we have yet travelled to photograph a wedding, Earle was concerned we should be taking our passports as anywhere north of Winchester is considered North to this through and through Southerner:-) Well, the outcome from our trip on a personal level is that Earle and I loved that part of the world, we were really thrilled with the welcome extended to us and not least all those yummy Wigan pies. Earle is a massive fan of those pies now!!

Claire and Geoff's wedding ceremony was held in a beautiful church in Wrightington, we were asked not to photograph during the ceremony and on this occassion we were rather delighted as it allowed us to fully appreciate the wondrous classical musical talent included in the ceremony. A large proportion of Claire and Geoff's guests enjoy a wonderful musical gift and it was showcased quite extraordinarily thoughout the day but very specifically at the church. This was the third wedding we have been priviledged to photograph for this group of friends and we look forward to the musical aspect more and more as well as catching up with a delightful band of people!!
The rain showers were successfully dodged and we were able to complete the 'formal' shots at the church just before the heavens opened and we all went just round the corner to the Wrightington Golf and Country Club for the wedding reception and more music some classic and later the most wonderful DJ doing his stuff!
During our time at the reception we were able to capture some images of Geoff and beautiful Claire around the hotel so they were not too far away from their friends and family who had travelled from all corners of Britain to be with them, but once they had completed their first dance and one or two more we stole them away for a short while hoping the incoming buffet would mean they were not too badly missed! It was dark of course but we are happy photographing in the dark - we think Claire and Geoff will be happy with the results, we gave them a sneakey peek on the back of the camera and they certainly were excited to see the basic results and maybe relieved their guilt at leaving their guests - we hope so!
We are looking forward to the day your wedding goes onto our site Claire and Geoff and hope you and your family are as happy with the photographs as we are. Thank you both for being so determined to have Earle and I photograph your wedding and for looking after us so well - we loved being part of your day.

Dear Jane & Earle, it takes a great photographer to make me look good but I reckon you had it easy with Mrs Heddle... that said, you have captured my girl so beautifully - I'm so excited to see the rest of the photos now. Thanks so much for everything and for your lovely words - you are both welcome up here anytime. Lots of love, Geoff x
